Sainte Kali

Première illustration de la série sur la féminité, elle est un mélange entre St Marie, la Vierge et mère de Jésus dans la religion catholique et Kali, Kalika ou encore Chamunda, Déesse du temps, de la mort et de la délivrance, mère destructrice et créatrice dans les croyances hindouistes.

Cette volonté de mélanger ces deux croyances m'ont sûrement été inspiré de mon voyage en Andalousie. Région fortement marquée par le passage des musulmans et des chrétiens qui coexistent dans son architecture.

Dessinée au micro-pointe dans un style fantasmagorique, puis repris en numérique pour le fond noir, elle est imprimée en quantité limitée à 200 tirages sur un support papier couché satiné, 135 grs/m²

The first illustration in the series on femininity, it's a cross between St. Mary, the Virgin and mother of Jesus in the Catholic religion, and Kali, Kalika or Chamunda, goddess of time, death and deliverance, destructive and creative mother in Hindu beliefs.

This desire to blend these two beliefs was surely inspired by my trip to Andalusia. A region strongly marked by the passage of Muslims and Christians, who coexist in its architecture.

Drawn in a phantasmagorical style with a microdot, then digitally reproduced for the black background, it is printed in a limited edition of 200 on 135gsm satin-coated paper.
